Kaos Skatepark, East Kilbride

We worked closely with KAOS on the design and build of this massive indoor facility.

This is one of the largest indoor concrete parks in Europe, made up of four distinct areas: a big bowl with a full pipe, a fun bowl, a pool, and a street course. Each area gives a different riding experience and challenge.

There is also a skate shop, viewing platforms, disabled access, party areas, food facilities and toilet facilities.

Big Bowl: The full pipe (4.7m high and 8.5m long) is the biggest in the UK and has unique cut out sections in the ceiling. There is a raised bowled end which leads to a hip then pocket into a 3.1m high vertical quarter.

Fun Bowl: Spined bowl with 1.2m high transitions with 3 different style hips, roll in, a vert corner pocket, an escalating pocket, and a 2.3m high flat bank extension.

Pool: Modern take on a classic backyard pool design. This has real pool coping with shaped steps in the shallow end, falling towards 2 opposing hips and a 0.9m waterfall into a vert bowled end.

Street Course: Overlooked by a large viewing area, the street course has a several level changes: hubbas, rails, a vert wall ride with a window, stair sets, manny pads, floating ledges plus a variety of banks and transitions.

The layout has been designed to maximise the 800sqm space.
